| The charming winter scenery of the Dolomites in the Val di Fiemme is home to the pistes of five SKI AREAS, where even the most demanding skiers will find the ideal run. ALPINE SKIING
The Val di Fiemme is one of the 12 areas that are part of “Dolomiti Superski”, the extraordinary offer that lets you ski on the world’s most beautiful mountains using a single ski pass. As well as the vast area of pistes, the ski pass allows all children under the age of eight to ski free of charge and what’s more, it offers free access to public swimming pools, to the Cavalese ice stadium and all of the ice rinks in the valley.
The ski passes used throughout the area are in the form of micro chip cards.
Skiing is easy and “hands-free”, without the need to take gloves off and put them on again each time you use the lifts.
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
Downhill skiing is not the only skiing available in the Val di Fiemme; in fact, the valley’s name has been linked to Nordic skiing for years, thanks to the now famous long-distance, cross-country race, the “Marcialonga”, and to the two editions of the Nordic Skiing World Championships (1991 and 2003) that made the valley known the world over.
The valley’s two main centres are: Passo Lavazè, a splendid plateau at 1800 m above sea level looking out onto Latemar, with some 80 kilometres of pistes through the woods and some sections leading to the malghe (alpine huts); the area of Lake Tesero, which hosted the World Championships in 2003, and popular with sports clubs from various areas, which choose it because of its impeccably prepared pistes. Every day, a free guide will be at your disposal to help you discover and make the most of a great day out on the snow.
We organise daily excursions on foot or snow shoes, along beaten tracks to help you to get to know areas that you would otherwise miss on your own!
The Val Venegia in winter, at the foot of the fantastic Pale di San Martino; the route from Passo S. Pellegrino to the Fuciade Refuge, destination of the area’s connoisseurs.
With us you can try out ski excursions on the paths through the woods at Lavazé, to the lakes at Colbricon or even to the foot of the Torri del Vajolet (Vajolet Stacks) in the magnificent Catinaccio group, and not forgetting the fantastic tour of 4 or 5 passes!
To experience all this, you only need to bring your trekking boots; the rest of the equipment is not a problem! An efficient “door-to-door” hire service will bring you everything you need, straight to the hotel.
